The Eastern Ontario Handgun Club (EOHC.ca) offers a relaxed atmosphere in which target shooters can enjoy a wide range of shooting disciplines. At the gun club's shooting ranges in the Larose Forest, just 30 minutes east of Ottawa and 75 minutes west of Montreal, we have one 50m range and two 40m covered firing ranges and a 100/200 yard rifle range - visit the construction updates page for the latest news on the range improvements (improved firing lines and four more pistol ranges are planned). Members have year round access to the facilities, seven days a week from 9:00am to dusk. New members receive an introduction to the Club and a handgun safety training course. While firearms are provided for the firearms safety courses, the Club does not own guns or ammunition and no guns are stored on site, so members will need their own firearms for regular shooting. You are welcome to shoot .22 rimfire, handgun calibre and blackpowder rifles, plus shotguns and bows on our 50m range.

If you, like most of our members, would like to simply come out and enjoy casual target practice on your own, you will find that you frequently have a shooting range all to yourself at our facility. Informal fun shoots are held periodically throughout the year if you would like to dabble in casual competition. For the more competitively inclined, the Club is the site of International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), Police Pistol Combat (PPC) competitions, Cowboy Action Shooting and Mini Rifle matches. If we don't offer a genre of target shooting that you want, volunteer your services and we will do whatever we can to help you launch a new shooting discipline. Shooting clinics and firearms training courses are also periodically offered by Club members and guest instructors (eg. Black Badge qualification courses for IPSC shooters).

respect our diversity, guns are a part of Canadian cultureWith Canada's gun control legislation (Bill C68, implemented in 1998) all individual's who own registered handguns and other restricted/prohibited firearms had to re-register their firearms by July 1, 2003. The Solicitor General of Canada has indicated that the Canadian Firearms Centre will continue to process applications from those who have not yet registered. If you previously registered a gun with target shooting as your stated purpose for acquiring the gun, you will need to belong to a gun club and get an Authorization to Transport in order to keep your guns. Our goal is to make it as simple as possible for you to comply with the new regulations and keep your firearms. We have Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course trainers and examiners affiliated with the Club so that you will be able qualify for a firearms Possession and Acquisition Licence. We can also help you successfully re-register or register your firearms and have them verified.
