. NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING THE AGM FOR 2011 HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 20th 2011, at 1:00 PM AT THE CLUB. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU ATTEND....WE HAVE BUSINESS TO DISCUSS REGARDING THE FUTURE OF EOHC. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: RANGES 1,2 AND 3 ARE NOW 25 METER RANGES WHEN USED FOR HANDGUNS. MEMBERS USING HANDGUNS MUST MOVE FORWARD TO THE NEW FIRING LINE ON THESE RANGES. RIFLES MAY STILL BE DISCHARGED FROM THE OLD LINE UNDER THE RANGE COVERS. IF RIFLES AND HANDGUS ARE TO BE USED AT THE SAME TIME ON THE SAME RANGE THEN ALL SHOOTING MUST TAKE PLACE FROM THE 25 METER LINE.
Interested in joining the club? Click HERE for more details. Check HERE for our new Range Availability page. The Eastern Ontario Handgun Club (EOHC.ca) offers a relaxed atmosphere in which target shooters can enjoy a wide range of shooting disciplines. At the gun club's shooting ranges in the Larose Forest, just 30 minutes east of Ottawa and 75 minutes west of Montreal, we have one 50m range and two 40m covered firing ranges and a 100/200 yard rifle range - visit the construction updates page for the latest news on the range improvements (improved firing lines and four more pistol ranges are planned). Members have year round access to the facilities, seven days a week from 9:00am to dusk. New members receive an introduction to the Club and a handgun safety training course. While firearms are provided for the firearms safety courses, the Club does not own guns or ammunition and no guns are stored on site, so members will need their own firearms for regular shooting. You are welcome to shoot .22 rimfire, handgun calibre and blackpowder rifles, plus shotguns and bows on our 50m range. If you, like most of our members, would like to simply come out and enjoy casual target practice on your own, you will find that you frequently have a shooting range all to yourself at our facility. Informal fun shoots are held periodically throughout the year if you would like to dabble in casual competition. For the more competitively inclined, the Club is the site of International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), Police Pistol Combat (PPC) competitions, Cowboy Action Shooting and Mini Rifle matches. If we don't offer a genre of target shooting that you want, volunteer your services and we will do whatever we can to help you launch a new shooting discipline. Shooting clinics and firearms training courses are also periodically offered by Club members and guest instructors (eg. Black Badge qualification courses for IPSC shooters).
